Elisa Smith Joins eMeter as Vice-President-General Counsel

eMeter adds new position of VP-General Counsel to handle high volume of contract activity. Elisa Smith, eMeter's new General Counsel, brings deep experience in utility contract negotiations and administration.

Redwood City, CA, January 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- eMeter announced today that Elisa Smith has joined the management team as Vice-President, General Counsel. Ms. Smith handles legal, human resources, and administrative affairs for eMeter.

Previously, Ms. Smith was a partner with Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP), Skjerven Morrill LLP and Sideman & Bancroft LLP., where she primarily handled complex commercial, corporate and real estate transactions for clients. She rejoins her colleagues Cree Edwards, eMeter’s CEO, Larsh Johnson, eMeter’s President, and Chris King, eMeter’s Chief Strategy Officer; Ms. Smith worked extensively with Messrs. Edwards and King at their former company, CellNet Data Systems.

Ms. Smith has extensive experience working with clients in the energy industry. “Elisa has more than a decade of experience in negotiating and administering advanced meter contracts; she will play a key role in eMeter’s current growth trajectory,” says eMeter CSO Chris King. “We’ve added this new position to handle the high volume of contract activity we are now facing.”

She is a member of the American Bar Association and of the Bar Association of San Francisco. She holds a J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
