Career Step to Support Naval Base San Diego Holiday Party as a Military Friendly School

Career Step will be attending the Family Holiday Party at Naval Base San Diego on December 4 to educate military servicemembers and their families on MyCAA funding and portable careers.

Provo, UT, December 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, a leading online healthcare education company and a 2011 Military Friendly School, will be attending the Family Holiday Party at Naval Base San Diego on December 4 to support military servicemembers and their families by educating them on MyCAA funding and portable career opportunities.

"Military families sacrifice a lot in support of our servicemembers, and Career Step is looking forward to being involved in this holiday event to give back to them," said Tim Reynolds, Career Step Military Liaison. "We're excited for the opportunity to express our gratitude for their sacrifices and share the great news about the MyCAA program, which pays for the training needed for new portable careers."

MyCAA funding is a Department of Defense program designed to help the spouses of military servicemembers in pay grades E1-E5, O1-O2, and W1-W2 quickly get the training they need for growing, portable careers. The program focuses on associate's degree, certificate, and licensure programs that enable military spouses to quickly complete their training and move into the workforce. The program offers up to $4,000 to cover training costs, with a cap of $2,000 per year.

Tuition for all of the Career Step programs is within this funding cap, allowing eligible military spouses to train with no out-of-pocket expenses for careers in the rapidly growing healthcare industry, which is expected to generate 3.2 million new jobs by 2018 and offers opportunities nationwide. All of the Career Step programs are approved for MyCAA funding, and students can train in the Medical Transcription and Editing, Medical Coding and Billing, and Pharmacy Technicians fields. In addition to MyCAA opportunities, Career Step also offers special military pricing for military spouses, servicemembers, and veterans.

These funding opportunities, in conjunction with the high level of quality and flexibility offered by the Career Step online programs, have earned Career Step a place on the 2011 Military Friendly Schools list published annually by G.I. Jobs magazine. The flexibility of the Career Step programs was another of the primary reasons for Career Step's inclusion on the Military Friendly Schools list, as the programs' online format allows students to complete their education at a pace and on a schedule that fits their individual lives.
