The San Francisco FCPUG SuperMeet kicks off a year-long celebration of the tenth anniversary of the SuperMeets and promises to be the single largest gathering of Final Cut Studio, Adobe and Avid editors, gurus and digital filmmakers in the Bay Area for all of 2011. It is expected this SuperMeet will sell out as historically every SuperMeet sells out.

"It all started here in San Francisco," states Michael Horton, head of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) and SuperMeet co-producer."10 years ago about 250 of us crowded into a small office in a dental building during Macworld San Francisco to share FCP tips and tricks with each other, show some videos, look at new hardware, and help each other solve our problems. Here we are, 10 years later and there are now thousands of other filmmakers who have joined us."

"The origin of our SuperMeets centered around four Final Cut Pro User Groups banding together from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston," states Daniel Berube, head of the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group and SuperMeet co-producer. "Now, it's all very much about community with over 60 active Final Cut Pro User Groups around the globe each doing their part to help celebrate the tenth anniversary of the SuperMeets in 2011. It's going to be quite an exciting year-long party."

The San Francisco FCPUG SuperMeet agenda will feature presentations from Autodesk and AJA, Show and tells from local Bay Area filmmakers and tips and tricks from Alex Lindsay, Steve Martin and Abba Shapiro.

"We are very excited to have Alex with us and the return of Steve and Abba together on stage at our San Francisco FCPUG SuperMeet," said Berube. "Steve and Abba are giants in the FCP world and a lot of fun on stage. And Alex Lindsay is always on the cutting edge in content creation. We can't wait to see what they will have to share with us."

Rounding out the evening will be the always wild and crazy "World Famous Raffle" where $50,000 worth of valuable prizes will be handed out to dozens of lucky winners.

Doors to the SuperMeet will open at 4:00PM with the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase," featuring over 25 software and hardware developers including Autodesk, AJA, Adobe, Artbeats, Automatic Duck, Blackmagic Design, Genarts, Nvidia, HDDISK, G-Tech, Matrox, Pixel Corps, Tolis Group, Keycode Media, AV3 Software, Imagine, The Foundry, Maxon, Peachpit, Pixelflow, Silverado and many others. Here, attendees can enjoy a few cocktails, network and party with industry peers, talk one on one with leading manufacturers and learn about the latest trends in collaborative editing workflows for postproduction and broadcast markets.

As part of the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase," the producers have announced the "Open Screen Theater." Filmmakers and digital content creators wanting to "Get Seen" will have a 10 minute chance to do so in an informal, collaborative setting. The SuperMeet producers want those who are shooting with DSLRS, camcorders, iPhones and anything that makes video to show up and sign up to screen their content and interact. All SuperMeet ticket holders are eligible to screen their work in Open Screen Theater.

In addition to the SuperMeet, educational "SuperWorkshops" will be offered during the day added the producers. These classes will be available for registration online at the SuperMeet web site later in December, 2010.
