ROJO Saves Time, Money, and Headaches by Providing More Than Just Blueprints

Pumping massive horsepower into their drawing board, BIM technologies have allowed ROJO to envision more than ever. This process is a direct ROI (return on investment) for the client, eliminating unnecessary overages in material, post-document subcontractor design costs, and valuable time.

Tampa, FL, December 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For the record, architects don’t “do blueprints,” they deliver finished, built environments. Printing shops “do blueprints.” Typically reserved for projects over $100 million, the technology that ROJO utilizes to design and deliver a building is BIM, providing time, material and overall savings.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is not new. As the next trend in architectural documentation, the process ties information to every drawn element that goes into constructing a building - material, orientation, cost, etc. Currently, BIM is being used in government buildings but is quickly entering the private sector. This advancement gives ROJO the ability to create line-item building material lists as well as advanced drawings for fabrication. Principal Rob Glisson explains, "This process eliminates waste and re-engineering by subcontractors. There’s no reason to believe this won’t save weeks during construction and 20% of material costs." This process is tested and proven. ROJO is currently developing BIM drawings alongside Onicx Construction for a new 90,000 sf medical office building adjacent to the new Trinity Hospital, Trinity, FL. This modeling has contributed to a square foot construction cost that is 10% below normal competitive costs and has saved over a month of construction time.

“I thought hiring an architect meant they were going to just draw blueprints for us. Come to find out that ROJO was completely immersed in the design, budgeting, construction, interior, artwork and move-in process. The actual construction drawings were only a minor part of their high level of service.” ROJO Client Shawn Sarkisian has reason to praise. He recently opened the renovated Park Square Cellar and Bistro, to which ROJO utilized BIM technology for the complicated bar and ceilings.

In an economy where every penny counts, BIM technologies have arrived at a perfect time for construction projects of every size. ROJO is proud to be on the leading edge of BIM technologies for private projects not only in the Tampa market, but across the country.
