Vivo Resorts Reports Record Sales for 2010; Mexico Real Estate Investment Industry Shows Signs of Growth

Puerto Escondido, Mexico, December 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cary Mullen, two time Olympian and World Cup Champion skier, now the noted vacation resort developer, recently announced that Vivo Resorts, his Mexico real estate investment property has had its most successful year, and believes that this is an indicator of a recovering economy.

Vivo Resorts reported record sales of 19 properties in 2010. In 2009, he sold only 2, a strong number considering the weakened economy. While he had moderate success in 2009, he guarded expectations for 2010. He is strongly encouraged by 2010 sales performance. “We’ve had 6 deals in the past 2 months so we’re very excited about our current momentum, and that investors are investing again. I was uncertain about 2010 sales performance at the beginning of the year due to the continuing softness of the economy, but I’m glad to report that people are increasing their spending and investment towards Mexico real estate,” said chief executive officer of Vivo Resorts, Cary Mullen. “As the market recovers, we also see that people are aggressively seeking superior value such as is offered by newly developing locations such as Puerto Escondido.”

Vivo Resorts offers oceanfront condos right on the beach for USD 120 – 210 per square feet for full ownership. Full ownership studio units start at $59,000, one bedroom units at $158,000 and two bedroom units at $199,000. Four bedroom units go for $397,000.

Cary Mullen also commented on Mexico’s growing economy. “Mexico is an emerging market. Not every country in the world is as affected by the recession as the US was, largely due to it being over inflated, over financed, and globally too expensive. Places like Puerto Escondido, Mexico are emerging markets. An emerging market is a place where the value and prices are on the rise and current demand is actually stronger than the demand in the past. Today’s savvy investors are looking for those types of emerging areas, along with the return they can provide.”

He also commented on the importance of foreign investments into Mexico. “Mexico is highly dependent on foreign investment, particularly from the US. In fact, foreign investment accounts for almost a quarter of Mexico’s GDP,” said Mullen.

Cary Mullen’s development, Vivo Resorts, has a leaseback plan that pays investors 5% of their money plus capital gains. Over 99% of the properties in Puerto Escondido are paid in cash. This makes for safer investing because owners aren’t speculating beyond their means.
