Dying Art of Oriental Rug Care is Alive and Well on Vancouver Island

A Canadian Oriental rug restoration specialist has successfully accessed the over one hundred year old rug cleaning secrets jealously guarded by the Armenian Community.

Victoria, Canada, February 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Stephen "Dusty" Roberts, owner of Luv-A-Rug Services Inc, a Victoria B.C. based textile care firm is in the business of restoring special Oriental rugs. This year, as part of his ongoing commitment to excellence, Dusty traveled all the way to Dallas, Texas, to attend the highly regarded class on oriental care by Ellen Amirkan and Aaron Groseclose, both internationally respected textile care experts.

Dusty goes on to explain that Ellen and Aaron are co-authors of a ground breaking new book entitled "A Comprehensive Guide to Oriental and Specialty Rug Cleaning."

“This amazing book,” says Dusty, “has finally exposed all the old rug cleaning secrets that have been so jealously guarded by the Armenian American community in our country for over 100 years. Up until now it was nearly impossible to become a real expert in this field, so I was delighted to have my company personally chosen to be the first in Canada to be mentored by the top experts in the world.”

In addition to the ongoing education in Oriental rug care, Dusty has invested heavily to outfit his rug cleaning facility with new, state of the art equipment. This includes his own newest invention, the RugBadger. The RugBadger has been heralded in the rug care community as the long lost "missing link" for Oriental rug care. It does the equivalent of what our grandparents used to do many years ago when they would put a rug over a line and beat it with the stick. The most astounding aspect about this new tool is how gentle it is on rugs even though is can dig out all the abrasive, damaging, fiber cutting soil along with all the allergens many of his clients are allergic to.

"The real shocker is seeing this tool in action," says Dusty. "Sometimes I have clients actually bring me rugs that in-home carpet cleaners have just freshly cleaned but are still unhappy with the results. It truly is a jaw dropper to see what comes out of these “freshly cleaned” rugs with just one quick pass with our RugBadger. We often will scoop up the sediments, put it in a bag and show it to our clients.”

Dusty goes on to say, "By combining our already extensive experience in Oriental rug care, our new certification as "Master Rug Care Technicians" and our new state of the art rug care facility, we are ready to care for your families treasured heirloom rugs."
