Phoenix, AZ, January 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Summit Murder Mystery novels will be the topic at the January 17, 2011, Brandeis National Committee Phoenix Chapter Arizona Authors Lecture Series. The event will be held at Barnes & Noble located at 101 & Shea in Scottsdale Arizona. The program begins at 12:30 pm and runs until 2:00 pm. The public is welcome; tickets are $5.00 per person. Please RSVP to Merrill Kalman, Arizona Authors Group Facilitator, mskbflo@aol.com (preferred) or 480-296-3355.

Charles G. Irion and Ronald J. Watkins, co-authors of the Summit series, will share how their collaboration started and how it has resulted in seven murder mysteries set on the Seven Summits.

Irion, who participated in a 1987 Everest expedition, knew immediately that the Seven Summits would be exciting locations for murder mystery novels. “The Seven Summits are remote, often highly inaccessible. These mountains are dangerous and can kill you in a lot of different ways, from high altitude, bad weather, ill preparation; it can be a recipe for disaster,” said Irion.

The authors will also discuss how this unique Series spans across seven continents to breathtaking and isolated parts of the world. Each geographical location offers rich history, cultural and religious rituals, and complex political influences.
