Delray Beach’s most popular art affair returns January 15 & 16, 2011 featuring a wide array of fine art by the nation’s top artists. The Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts, consistently ranked as one of the best art events in the U.S. by Sunshine Artist Magazine, celebrates its 22nd anniversary. Admission is free and open to the public.

This highly anticipated event, the largest art affair in Florida, transforms Downtown Delray Beach into a first-class outdoor art gallery. 150 of the nation’s most talented artists, who will collectively display over $15 million in artwork, will line Atlantic Avenue with their professional display booths spanning a one mile stretch of this popular destination; starting at US1 and continuing East, over the Intracoastal Waterway, all the way to A1A on the Atlantic Ocean.

The Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts, a signature event for the City of Delray Beach, makes the arts accessible to a broad audience and highlights notables in today’s art scene. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.

The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be on site for the duration of the art festival, available to discuss their art and inspiration. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photos, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures.
