Nevada Union High Alum Sign Copies of Hilarious Police Blotter Book Collaboration

Proceeds Benefit Scholarship and Charity

Grass Valley, CA, January 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Truth is by far funnier than fiction, and this collection of real calls to law enforcement in Hometown Police Blotter – Volume One: Nevada County, California is exactly that. The brainchild of Nevada Union High School classmates, Sean Michael Beyer and Andy Spurlock, with illustrations by David ‘Star’ Fields, will be signed at The Book Seller, in downtown Grass Valley on January 23, 2011.

Touted as a “252-Page Bathroom-Reading Masterpiece” by Yuri Shimoda, Campus Circle Newspaper and “Pure Genius... Compile the funniest police blotter items from Nevada County into a book and enlist a friend to illustrate the entries with cartoon drawings” says Liz Kellar, from The Union in Grass Valley.

A Free Roll of Toilet Paper will accompany each signed Book:
“We couldn’t make this sh*t up even if we tried,” says co-creator and art director Sean Michael Beyer. Co-creator Andy Spurlock says “This book is destined to win a Pulitzer for “Best Bathroom Reading -- and we’re all okay knowing where our book will most likely be enjoyed!” Keeping true to their theme, the authors will be atop their “thrones” on the day of the signing (yes, they’ll be sitting on toilets).

Helping the Kids:
A dollar from the purchase of each book will benefit the Nevada Union Class of ’81 Scholarship Endowment, helping an underprivileged student or one who has overcome adversity go to college, continuing with 5% of proceeds for the life of the book; Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation which puts musical instruments in the hands of disadvantaged school children, will also benefit from the proceeds of the book.

About the Authors:
Sean Michael Beyer graduated from Nevada Union in 1981 and now lives in Los Angeles, working in the entertainment business; Andy Spurlock also a 1981 alum, lives in Las Vegas with his family and continues to explore his creative writing talents; Illustrator David ‘Star’ Fields grew up in the Folsom area and also happens to live in Las Vegas where he has begun a career as a tattoo artist.
