Park West Gallery Makes Significant Art Donation to Youth Arts Corps in St. Petersburg, FL

Park West Gallery artist Marko Mavrovich gives artist talk to students and donates additional work.

Southfield, MI, January 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Park West Gallery, located in Southfield, MI, made a significant donation of 20 works of art to Youth Arts Corps, a non-profit organization in St. Petersburg, FL, whose mission is to help students reach their full potential through the fine arts.

Additionally, Marko Mavrovich, an internationally renowned artist represented by Park West Gallery, gave an artist talk to 30+ students and did a live painting demonstration. At the end of the demonstration, he allowed the students to add their own touches, and then donated the work to the Youth Arts Corps.

The donation is part of Park West Gallery CARES, an initiative launched in July by Park West Gallery to donate thousands of new items of clothing, works of art, books, and other important items to charitable and educational organizations, nationwide.

“Over the past 42 years, Park West Gallery has always been very active in philanthropy,” said Albert Scaglione, founder and CEO of Park West Gallery. “While our physical locations are in Michigan, we serve clients all across the country. We expanded Park West Gallery CARES to give back nationwide, and we are thrilled to be able to assist organizations like the Youth Arts Corps and communities like St. Petersburg.”

Mr. Scaglione further stated, “The Youth Arts Corps mission of assisting students is one that my wife Mitsie and I support strongly, and we are honored to be able to help in this way.”

“I am looking forward to our kids meeting Marko Mavrovich and learning from this wonderful experience,” said Kimberly White, Program Director of Youth Arts Corps. “They are so excited about the presentation and cannot wait to see the artwork! I am so grateful to Park West Gallery and Studio 10 for their incredible support of our program and their sincere dedication to its’ mission and value.”

Studio 10, a local morning talk show on Tampa Bay’s CBS affiliate station, filmed the donation and artist talk, and featured it on-air. The segment can be found here: http://parkwestgallery.wordpress.com/2010/12/16/park-west-gallery-cares-sponsors-event-for-floridas-youth-arts-corps/
