New Reality Television Show Gives Aspiring Voice Actors a Chance at Stardom with "Behind the Mic: The Voiceover Talent Search"

Voice Talent Productions announces their latest project, a voiceover reality television show.

New York, NY, January 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Show creator and voiceover talent agent Erik Sheppard says, “The time was just right. There is a huge interest in our industry as of late and we wanted to put these actors in the spotlight. There are shows out there featuring bakers and dog groomers, but our business is infinitely more exciting.”

He continues, “Our format is fresh and exciting and showcases the unique and supportive way in which our community of actors work with one another. Nobody will be humiliated on this show. Aspiring talent will work hard, just like everyone else in this profession, and we’ll all get a chance to watch and listen.”

Co-producer Marc Cashman adds, “Voiceover is everywhere—commercials, TV shows, movies, animated series, online material, audiobooks, instructional CDs, even on the telephone. People are intrigued not only by who those voices are, but by what goes on behind the scenes or “Behind the Mic.” Our reality show pulls back the curtain to reveal the inner workings and the amazing level of talent involved in the voiceover industry.”

A competing project has been announced recently, but Sheppard and Cashman insist the concept was plagiarized. "We contacted certain parties and shared our concept with them at the time but they declined. It seems they are now trying to use their celebrity to market the concept for themselves even though this has long since been registered and protected. We were not planning on going public with the show until pre-production was complete but our hand has been forced. We do not want to confuse the production companies, location owners, sponsors or anyone else we have contracts with."

The new television series will feature the producers along with voiceover industry stars Sarah Natochenny (of the animated series Pokemon) and Wally Wingert (voice and personality from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno). The producers also promise guest appearances from celebrity voice actors that will “knock your socks off,” as well as upcoming announcements on how to audition.
