Denver, CO, January 14, 2011 --( David Bassett, President of AmeriStar Tax Centers, a nationwide professional tax resolution firm representing taxpayers before the IRS, has announced that Mark Steichen has joined the firm’s tax resolution department.

Mark is authorized by the U.S. Treasury Department to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals.

He is a CPA and tax accountant with a master degree in business administration and has over 20 years of tax accounting experience.

Mark is a results-oriented CPA with extensive accounting and tax experience. As an AmeriStar tax professional, his background enables him to interpret complex accounting and tax laws and apply them to unique resolution cases.

Mark has spent the earlier part of his career on the other side as an IRS agent and has negotiated cases for the IRS with taxpayers, CPAs and attorneys.

His accomplishments include IRS Revenue Agent training which covered all aspects of tax law including personal income tax, corporate tax, partnerships and business combinations. He specialized in tax planning and compliance as staff accountant for a Denver Law Firm and served as Director of Finance of the Laradon Hall Society.
