Monthly CPR Classes Offered by EmergyCare

On the third Thursday of each month during 2011, EmergyCare will offer a CPR class. Each CPR class provides four hours of instruction on recognizing the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign body airway obstruction (choking).

Erie, PA, January 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- EmergyCare announces its 2011 schedule of CPR classes. CPR classes will be held at EmergyCare headquarters at 18th and Sassafras Streets the third Thursday of each month starting January 20. The classes are held from 6-10 p.m. The cost of the class is $40 or $50 with a book.

The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class provides four hours of instruction on recognizing the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign body airway obstruction (choking). The class also teaches the basics of adult CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which are becoming increasingly common in public places. Child and infant emergencies will also be covered. Education Coordinator Jim Kifer suggests "the CPR class is a great way for the average person to arm themselves with basic life-saving techniques that could save the life of a family member or a perfect stranger some day.”

The CPR class is intended for all interest and skill levels: medical/dental office workers, school and daycare workers, nursing home staff, volunteer fire departments and caring citizens who want to have the skills to help when a medical emergency strikes.
