EBW Healthcare and the Sister Lilian Centre Launch Maternal Care SMS Education Project

CapeTown, South Africa, January 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- EBW Healthcare and the Sister Lilian Centre are launching a free SMS education project for health workers in South Africa. Condensed extracts from EBW Healthcare's Maternal Care coursebook will be SMS'd to subscribers every Tuesday from 18 January until 5 July, at no cost to the recipient. The SMS's link back to the full text on www.ebwhealthcare.com, which publishes the content of the coursebook for free online.

Healthcare organisations often don't have the resources or capacity to offer useful continuing training and refresher courses for their staff. With this project, we hope to reach thousands of health workers with key information, without any inconvenience on their part, and point them to the free resource, ebwhealthcare.com.

The project is primarily aimed at midwives, but other health professionals in South Afrca can also register for this SMS course by emailing the Sister Lilian Centre on info@sisterlilian.co.za.

The Maternal Care coursebook addresses all the common and important problems that occur during pregnancy, labour, delivery and the puerperium. It was first self-published by the Perinatal Education Programme in 1992, and has been recommended as a prescribed text by the Department of Health.

The paperback can be bought from EBW Healthcare for R200 incl VAT.
