NET Invites Viewers to Return to the Arena

Brooklyn, NY, January 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Back by popular demand, In the Arena returns for it’s second season. A current events and public affairs debate show, In the Arena, focuses on the topics that matter most to today’s Catholics. Hosted by the Emmy award-winning TV anchor, Jane Hanson, and the Very Reverend Kieran E. Harrington, Vicar for Communications for the Diocese of Brooklyn, In the Arena aims to challenge the opinions of both liberal and conservative pundits alike.

Originally launched in 2010, the show was envisioned by the network to become THE Catholic-based source of political debate, as well as a tool to reach out to the viewing public. “So often we find that the Catholic perspective gets lost in the landscape of mainstream news media,” said Gary Arkin, Marketing Director of NET, who also added, “While the CNN’s and ABC News organizations of the world are beholden to their advertisers and sponsors, NET answers to a higher authority.”

Following the first season of In the Arena, viewers were very pleased, and as a result of their positive response, it was clear that a second season was in order. “This is a program that gives a voice to those who truly believe faith should be a critical part of the thought process of making political decisions,” said Robert Ruggiero, Programming Director of NET. In season two, the show will continue to interject the Catholic faith’s perspective revolving around the various political issues of the day and will invite viewers to “Enter the Arena.”
