Main Street Radiology Receives an Edge with the Help of MedInformatix

Main Street Radiology has successful updated their practice with MedInformatix's RIS. The MedInformatix RIS has recieved numerous Microsoft awards over the pass several years and is now CCHIT Certified.

Los Angeles, CA, February 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Main Street Radiology, a leading Radiology group in New York, has partnered with MedInformatix as its software vendor to provide a powerful new RIS infrastructure.  Main Street was founded in August of 2000 and was the first practice to use a PET Scanner in Queens.  This crucial selection of MedInformatix RIS is expected to increase office efficiency while increasing the patient work flow up to an astonishing 50%.  With a more economical sound platform and more effective patient workflow, Main Street’s 18 Radiologists and 40 techs will be able to cycle through their annual 80,000 to 100,000 media reads with more ease and reliability.

After a year of research, Main Street has joined in with other local prominent New York Medical groups, North East Radiology – Brewster, NY and Lennox Hill Radiology – New York, NY, in their selection of MedInformatix RIS.  Learning of MedInformatix through the ever popular Google and MedRis websites, Ken Suto, Director of Radiology for Main Street, immediately discovered the power of MedInformatix RIS with an extensive online demo.  These advanced hands-on interactive demos allowed the doctors and administrators to thoroughly investigate the full scope of the MedInformatix RIS.

One of the selling points for Main Street was MedInformatix’s capability to offer many different types of Electronic Medical Record and RIS modules, which can be customized to fit any workflow.  MedInformatix has the ability to interface with virtually any PACS, which Main Street noted to be extremely beneficial.  “Regard to interfacing to our old PACS system,  Main Street Radiology looked for someone with the ability to interface with any PACS and billing system; MedInformatix was able to do just that,” stated Ken Suto.

A common concern for all Radiologists today is once a patient receives a MRI, then how does the referring physician review the results.  For most groups, a patient’s film is developed and delivered to the referring physician.  With Main Street’s new technological advanced infrastructure, this is no longer a problem.  The Web Referring Module by MedInformatix allows referring physicians to log on to Main Street’s server and not only view their patient’s films, but read the Radiologist’s comments that were transcribed via voice recognition software.
