Kandace, the Owner/Artistic Director is excited about “Kan-Dance Studio” being Tampa’s Premiere Dance Studio. Kan-Dance Studio was created because of her love and adoration for dance. Kandace has devoted herself to building a studio of technique, performance quality and pure respect for dance education and fitness. Her vision is not only to provide great dance instruction to the community but also to bring dance and fitness back into people's lives.

Kandace began her formal training at H. W. Blake High School of the Arts. She graduated with a BFA degree in Dance Education from one of the Top 10 Dance Programs, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Kandace’s dance foundation as landed her roles and many accomplishments as a young artist. Kandace made her national stage debut in the 1999 musical of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., an achievement she would repeat as Teacher/Choreographer at the group’s 2007 gathering in Orlando, FL. In 2004, this exposure won her an ongoing teaching position at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Washington, DC. Additionally, she was featured at the Progressive Center for Dancers in Philadelphia, PA during their Winter Show. Nunn broadened her teaching career in 2006 by working as Dance Department Head at Orange Grove Middle School of the Arts in Tampa.

Kandace’s brilliant performances brought many interruptions to her teaching. In 2006, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company Founder, Bill T. Jones, called her to New York City for a Winter Workshop Performance. That same year, she earned rave reviews at the American Dance Festival Faculty Performance in Durham, NC. Still in demand, Kandace traveled to the Ghana Mission: Calvary Charismatic Center in Ghana, West Africa-Kumasi where she choreographed and presented “3 Levels of Worship,” an inspirational praise and worship dance offering.

In 2007, she reemployed her gifts as an educator at PurElements Teaching Artists in Brooklyn, NY. Kandace has made many television appearances. To her credit, she sharpened her skills by taking part in (among others) the Deeply Rooted Professional Training Workshop in Chicago, IL. For Kandace, evolving and developing her art is an ongoing process.

Kandace was chosen as lead character "Uniqua" in the national tour of Nickelodeon’s Backyardigans Live, "Tale of the Mighty Knights," a role for which Director, Lou Jacobs says, "She was perfect." She also starred in American Idol Contestant Todrick Hall’s production as "Harmonique" in the national tour of "Oz the Musical," an interactive show that introduces children to professional theater by casting local youths in supporting roles. Recently she has had the pleasure of joining Nickelodeons National Tour of Storytime Live as Uniqua.
