“Suicide Seth” Dares Others to Do It: Tom and the Troubled Teens, Published by Outskirts Press

Rochester, NH, January 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. has published Tom and the Troubled Teens: Suicide Seth by Gary Turcotte. The author's most recent book to date is a 5.5 x 8.5 paperback in the fictional family life category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The webpage at www.outskirtspress.com/SuicideSeth was launched simultaneously with the book's publication.

Tom was out of work, his benefits ran out and he took the only job he could find: substitute teacher at a private school. When the guidance counselor was forced to resign, Tom took his spot. The ex-counselor kept secret files of the troubled teens and their sessions.

Seth was one of the disturbed and was suicidal, but he lacked the nerve to end his life. Tom followed the teens onto the internet to a suicide site where he found Seth as one of the advisors, calling himself “Suicide Seth.” He dared those who talked about ending their life to “do it” and stop talking about it.

Tom took a screen name and tried to interact with the desperate teens, but he was from a different era and his words fell on deaf ears. He confided in the principal, but she had a policy of looking the other way. She wanted the school to seem safe since it was funded from tuition and alumni donations. She swept Tom’s findings under the rug.

This story is not far from the truth. Many teen suicides are covered up by different wording in the obituaries. It is an alarming problem and needs to be exposed.

228 pages in length, Tom and the Troubled Teens: Suicide Seth is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the fictional family life category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, Tom and the Troubled Teens meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $15.95.

Additionally, Tom and the Troubled Teens can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press Direct bookstore at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore.
