The Medal Play Golf Tour Hosts First Ever Los Angeles Event at Industry Hills

City of Industry, CA, January 27, 2011 --( The Medal Play Golf Tour played their first ever event in the Los Angeles area at the Industry Hills Golf Resort on Sunday. “It was good to get the first event in,” said tour director Blane Freytag. “The field was light, but the players that showed up had a great time and it was nice to showcase to Los Angeles area golfers what we have to offer.”

The tightest competition of the day belonged to the Sr. Gold Division where Paul Hamilton outlasted Russell Gaston and John Isely by a single shot. Gaston took second over Isely on the scorecard playoff.

Yuri Pikover of the Silver Division and Chuck Thomas of the Sr. Silver Division each won their second events in as many starts as they also took titles in Palm Springs at Terra Lago earlier this month.

Rob Celaya (Championship), Tom Bernardello (Sr. Championship) and Mark Kammerlohr (Gold) all started their seasons on a good note with wins.

The tour returns to action on February 26th at Talega GC in Santa Clemente. The next two events are Media Day events where interested players can play an event before deciding to join the tour.
