Brooklyn, NY, January 29, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- SOUL LOUNGE USA launches its first New York City Franchise in Brooklyn starting Friday, February 11 at Southpaw located at 125 5th Avenue at 8pm. This event will feature the well-known hip and Live urban music, open mic and grassroots vibe Soul Lounge has established in several cities throughout the US.
SOUL LOUNGE USA first established a solid presence in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2007 by promoting and producing a hip, urban, live music event featuring spoken word artist, soul vocalists and bands every Sunday at BB Kings. The Event has attracted some of the Country’s most sought after Soul artist like Grammy Winners PJ Morton and Tommy Sims.
This Soul event was so unique and in such high demand that other cities and venues requested its ‘vibe.’ After establishing a SOUL LOUNGE franchise in Memphis in early 2009, the grassroots concept took off like wildfire.
Now with a presence in 10 markets including Washington DC and Brooklyn, founder Bill Lee McCleskey says the future is even brighter. “We have discussions weekly with different cities or venues interested in a Soul Lounge franchise… We’re excited about what the future holds for this company and for authentic Soul music.”
“Brooklyn is going to be one of the grandest SOUL LOUNGE markets. The fact that New York City has welcomed this movement brings a ton of credibility to what we’re doing,” says Bill Lee. The event will be hosted by Soul Artists and Brooklyn favorite Jaiden of Interscope Records. Jaiden will also perform a soul set during the event which will mark his first full Live performance of 2011. Other Live performances will be made by The Akua Taylor Band and Blessing Offor.
