Bright Horizons Family Solutions Opens ROJO-Designed Center in Baldwin Park, FL

Childcare group goes above-and-beyond to be good neighbors in Baldwin Park.

Orlando, FL, February 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Bright Horizons, one of the most successful national childcare providers, has opened a new center in Baldwin Park, Orlando, designed by ROJO Architecture. The facility is unique to other Bright Horizons locations as Baldwin Park is a design-regulated community. The resulting building contributed to the fabric of Baldwin Park, working with streetscapes and enhancing views at the termination of pedestrian walkways. The project consists of traditional massing in a local Florida vernacular style. Roof features, shutters and covered terraces detail the massing and reinforce the public features throughout Baldwin Park.

“We knew we had to do something unique here,” says Swapnali Salunkhe, Project Manager and Registered Architect at ROJO Architecture, “we wanted to guarantee Bright Horizons was a part of the community and contribute to the look of this special area”. The result does just that. Deep red and bright white details are enhanced by the rich black fencing around the property’s play spaces. “The safety of our children is always paramount to the building. It protects and looks good doing it”.

John Saldana, principal of ROJO describes further, “We worked closely with Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the Baldwin Park development committee and the City of Orlando to combine the special features of Bright Horizon’s program with the requirements of the area. We appreciate all of the help from both city jurisdictions. The project would not have succeeded without them”.

Bright Horizons Family Solutions program for learning creates developmentally appropriate educational environments that empower children to be confident, successful, lifelong learners. In addition to learning, the center provides enrichment programs such as swimming, dance, and soccer.
