Erie, PA, February 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Erie Photographer John Huegel, owner of John Huegel Photography, is dedicating the week of February 27, 2011 through March 5th, 2011 as "Blue in Black" week. He will be offering limited in-studio portrait sessions in exchange for donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Huegel, a long time supporter of JDRF, is dedicating this week of photography to raise awareness of the work of JDRF and to encourage new and current clients to support Juvenile Diabetes research and to refresh their family portraits.

He notes, "Many families have not updated their family portraits in years. The quiet evenings in February are perfect days to get out of the house, round up the family with comfortable casual outfits, and capture a wonderful family portrait in a great space".

Huegel's downtown Erie studio is in the Raven building at 26th and Peach streets. This antique school building was constructed in 1897. Finished in brick, natural wood and featuring lots of windows, the studio space is ideal for indoor portraits.

"It gets a bit chilly in the winter, but we crank up the heat to make it comfortable," notes Huegel. "There's a lot of history in this old building, and we're creating even more history with each portrait that we make."

Donations to JDRF will be accepted in lieu of a sitting fee. All donation amounts will be doubled for credits to be used in the purchase of prints and other products, and the donations to JDRF will be tax deductible.
