Gates Corporation Launches Subaru Stretch Fit® Belt & Installation Tool

The Micro-V® Stretch Fit Belts Use TwistLock™ Technology to Ensure Proper Tension.

Denver, CO, February 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Automotive Aftermarket unit of Gates Corporation today launched Micro-V® Stretch Fit® belts for several Subaru models as well as an exclusive belt installation tool. Offering durability and peak performance, the V-ribbed belts utilize revolutionary TwistLock™ cord technology to elongate and stretch without any tension loss.

The belts’ innovative design includes strong, flexible polyamide tensile cord surrounded by a specially formulated adhesive that locks on to the cord. In addition, the patented EPDM construction of the belt ribs makes them highly resistant to oil leaks, wear and pilling. The V-ribbed belts are sized shorter than standard Micro-V belts, as their unique design properties allow for self-tensioning on the drive, proper tension throughout their life and optimum load-carrying capacity.

Unlike the O.E. belt, Gates sells the exclusive tool required to install the Subaru Stretch Fit belts separately so that it can be used for multiple installations. This tool is required and will prevent belt damage during installation.

Gates Micro-V Stretch Fit belts are designed for use on the A/C compressor drives of 2008-10 Subaru Impreza, Forester and Outback models with 2.5L engines. No other automotive aftermarket supplier offers coverage for these vehicles.
