Hathaway Breaks Ground on 76 Units in Columbus
Atlanta, GA, February 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Hathaway Construction Services, Inc. commenced construction on Phase II of The Preserve at Columbus Park, a $4,490,000, 76 unit addition to the Class A apartment community in Columbus, Georgia. The project is owned by GMA Apartments II, LLC and is positioned between the shopping center anchored by Kohl’s Department Store and the Columbus Botanical Gardens. The Preserve at Columbus Park is also a part of the Columbus Park Crossing Development project, a one-of-a-kind 380-acre master planned retail, office, hotel, commercial and multi-family mixed-use development, combining a critical mass of nationally recognized retailers with an array of dining and entertainment options that draws shoppers from over 40 miles.
The Preserve at Columbus Park is well located at the corner of Whittlesey Boulevard and Veterans Parkway within a 63+/- acre site on the northeast side of Columbus, GA. The apartments are ideally located with excellent interstate exposure, within close proximity to I-185, US Hwy 80 and US Hwy 27 offering convenient access in all directions. I-185 connects Columbus to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, less than ninety minutes to the north. Phase II of the project will consist of 76 market rate apartment units, adding 3 buildings to the existing 224 units constructed in Phase I, which was completed in the 3rd quarter of 2010. Phase II is expected to be completed in the fall of 2011 and leasing will commence shortly thereafter.
