Parallel Worlds, Perilous Plights Drive Adventure of 2nd Earth, Published by Outskirts Press

Veteran co-authors Eunice and Edward Vought take two Navy Seals into a parallel universe and test their skills, stamina and street smarts against a reality stranger and more dangerous than anything they have ever encountered.

Marion, OH, February 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Co-authors Eunice and Edward Vought announced today the release of 2nd Earth, published by Outskirts Press. In this science fiction adventure two Navy Seals find themselves pioneering survivors in a world that is familiar on the surface, but totally different in reality, where they must use all their training and expertise to fend off everything this strange new world and Mother Nature throw at them.

Usually falling asleep on the subway brings a few minutes of pleasant rest, but when Jon Gorman and his buddy Tim, wake up from a little cat nap on the subway, they find themselves beginning a truly out-of-this world adventure.

After a long day, the rocking motion of the train lulls these two Navy Seals to sleep, but when the train comes to a stop, they wake to find their subway train abandoned in the middle of a dark tunnel somewhere deep under the streets of New York City. As they make their way to the surface, they find the streets are still there, the buildings are still there, even the cars are still there. There are just no people.

When they finally encounter a young girl running for her life from four scruffy punks, they begin to realize just how strange this post-apocalyptic reality is going to be.

Authors Eunice and Ed Vought have always been fascinated with the concept of parallel worlds and with the idea that there might only be a few survivors after a near total destruction of the world as we know it. 2nd Earth brings those ideas into a dramatic fictional reality, and the Voughts are already working on a sequel to it.

Accomplished authors, the Voughts have received accolades for their Best Friends series, which offers a look into adolescent relationships from the standpoint of traditional Christian values.

2nd Earth is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.
