Solstice Presents Mobile Epiphany Software at Southwest Border Control Industry Day

Partner companies work together to produce situational awareness solutions for border control agents.

Aurora, CO, February 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Enterprise solutions provider Solstice attended the Southwest Border Control Industry Day on February 17th to demonstrate Touch Inspect, a mobile application created by Colorado-based software developer Mobile Epiphany. Solstice configured the application to be used as a situational awareness solution for border patrol agents. With it, agents can track persons of interest, document suspicious cargo, conduct vehicle inspections, and perform a variety of other security-related tasks using handheld computers.

The event was hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Office of Technology and Acquisition (OTIA) in order to showcase new technologies that could help meet the goal set by Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to improve the overall efficiency, coverage, and effectiveness of border control. Over 200 people attended the event which was specifically focused on the unique challenges faced by agents along the Southwest border of the U.S. and Mexico.

Solstice says they are also planning to demonstrate situational awareness capabilities of Touch Inspect to a broader audience at the AFCEA Homeland security conference in Washington D.C. later this month.
