Jodia Slater, NP, Named Mid-Level Provider of the Year

Canton, OH, February 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Jodia Slater, NP, was named mid-level provider of the year for her work in the Iredell Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in Charlotte, North Carolina, by EMP of Mecklenburg/Iredell.

Ms. Slater earned her associate degree in nursing in 1999, after which she went on to complete her bachelor degree in nursing in 2002 and her master's degree in nursing in 2006 at the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. She became a certified nurse practitioner that same year. Ms. Slater brought her extensive experience to the Carolinas Medical Center in 2007 and continues to work alongside our physicians at EMP of Mecklenburg where she is actively involved in patient care and mentoring her colleagues.

As noted from a close colleague, "Jodia is not only an excellent clinician and mentor to the new hire MLPs, she distinguished herself earlier in the year. Her commitment to EMP, CMC University Hospital and the physicians/MLPs placed her above and beyond her peers this year." Jodia had worked tirelessly through the busy season for her patients, working overtime when necessary in order to help ED flow and patient turnaround time. She was also responsive to her partners needs when illness or other emergency kept a physician from completing their shift.

Emergency Medicine Physicians congratulates Jodia Slater, NP, for her well deserved award and for her commitment to her patients and colleagues at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
