RIG Energy Recruit Show their True Colours

Recruitment of Gas Heating Engineers, Electrical, Gas & Water Utilities personnel is not a sector of business you would first consider playing an active role in the move to reduce carbon emissions. However, it is collective effort across all business areas that will give momentum and push the green culture.

Milton, United Kingdom, February 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- RIG Energy Recruit since conception, has sought to be the leader in its chosen markets, this ethos extends beyond the usual measures of sales and service. Allan Rimmer RIG Energy Recruit's Managing Director comments on the need to promote a green culture.

RIG Energy Recruit has set up an environmental team. The team will lead the changes in methods and policies. Their activity will have a direct effect on the way in which RIG Energy Recruit conducts its business. Allan Rimmer comments, “Many businesses have an environmental policy because they feel it will embellish their next tender. They are not always a true reflection of the business and have no active role in their daily operations. We deal with local authorities, Gas Engineering and Utility companies, many of these businesses have active meaningful policies. These policies have an affect on the behaviour of their employees. Mid sized companies such as ours, also have a responsibility to be active and not see their environmental policy as another box to tick when tendering for contracts.”

RIG Energy Recruit's environmental team has a wide remit and has been set up to consider all areas of the supply chain. Allan Rimmer comments, “We have to initially work on those areas we can directly affect. We have had a hard look at our current policy and taken out any 'grey' areas. We need to stick to actions we can take that will have an impact. It will remain an ongoing process and always be under review. We can have an influence over our suppliers and we have already started a process of change within a number of supply areas. However, it is the daily actions of our internal staff where we can have an immediate affect. We have a high profile within our chosen markets and are often imitated our competitors. This is one area in which I would be happy to see them follow our lead.”

RIG Energy Recruit seeks to develop a green culture. Changes in behaviour will influence the working and home life of staff and those with whom they interact. Allan Rimmer comments, “Changing an aspect of culture is not an easy task, it needs the involvement of everybody. Elections are not won by one vote but each vote counts. If we help by changing our culture then this will have a knock on effect with the families of our employees, our customers, suppliers and even competitors. We work within the utilities field and as such we are effected by legislation such as the Kyoto agreement, Energy efficiency and Decent Homes Scheme these directives come from World leaders, Europe and the UK and the targets set are key drivers in a number of our markets. We all have a responsibility to try and make a positive contribution. We can all make changes and it will be the collective action that will move us towards attaining a truly Green Culture.”
