The Chairmen’s RoundTable Announces Partnership with BIOCOM

BIOCOM and CRT combine forces to support the local life sciences community

San Diego, CA, March 14, 2011 --( The Chairmen’s RoundTable (CRT), a San Diego non-profit organization comprised of over 40 current and former CEOs that provide mentoring and strategic advice to San Diego businesses on a pro-bono basis, announced it has signed a partnership agreement with BIOCOM, Southern California’s life science association representing more than 550 member companies.

The two organizations share a common goal of strengthening the local business community through individual company success. “At the CRT we passionately believe that by helping individual San Diego companies reach their full potential we are helping the entire San Diego business community,” said Dave Cox, Chairman of the CRT. “BIOCOM’s mission follows this same philosophy so there is a natural fit between our organizations. In San Diego there are a large number of medical device and biotechnology companies, and we have mentored our share in the past. This partnership will make our services even more visible and accessible to the life sciences community."

“The CRT is an excellent resource for our members,” said Joseph Panetta, President and CEO of BIOCOM. "We are always looking for people, programs and partners that can provide knowledge and guidance to our membership. The CRT’s unique mentoring program offers executives an outside perspective on key issues and provides a framework for their solution. The opportunity to get free advice from former and current chairmen, CEOs and presidents with such a depth of experience as those of the CRT mentors is incredible. We will encourage our members to take advantage of this exceptional service."

BIOCOM is the largest regional life science association in the world, representing more than 550 member companies in Southern California. The association focuses on initiatives that positively influence the region’s life science community in the development and delivery of innovative products that improve health and quality of life. This includes initiatives in capital formation, public policy, workforce development, group purchasing and member services such as networking events.
