Guys & Dolls to be Hope International University’s Spring Musical

Fullerton, CA, March 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Music Department of Hope International University (HIU) will present the charming musical production, Guys & Dolls, as the annual spring musical (Music by Frank Loesser; Lyrics by Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows). This witty romantic comedy is set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City and is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. It soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiance, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. Last year’s performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast had multiple night sell outs and they are expecting the same this year. The production runs Saturday, March 12, until Saturday, March 19 with both evening and matinee performances. Every year the Music Department provides matinee performances with free admission for local K-12 schools. School groups enjoy a special meet and greet time with the cast of Guys & Dolls.

Ticket prices are $10 and may be purchased through Hope International University's website.
