Harbor Country Day School’s Strawberry Festival to Support Stony Brook Children’s Hospital

Announcing Harbor Country Day School’s 1st Annual Strawberry Festival to be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 10am to 4pm (rain date: Sunday, June 5, 2011) at the school’s 11-acre campus located at 17 Three Sisters Road in Saint James, NY. This is a celebration of Long Island-grown strawberries. Activities will include strawberry fun, craft and food vendors, local musicians, children’s entertainment and games.

St. James, NY, May 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Local school banding together to help bring the first children's hospital to Suffolk County -- with a strawberry festival fundraiser.

Announcing Harbor Country Day School’s 1st Annual Strawberry Festival to be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 10am to 4pm (rain date: Sunday, June 5, 2011) at the school’s 11-acre campus located at 17 Three Sisters Road in Saint James, NY. This is a celebration of Long Island-grown strawberries. Activities will include strawberry fun, craft and food vendors, local musicians, children’s entertainment and games. Tours for the first time of the historic “Tulip Knoll” mansion, the former home of WWII philanthropist Alice McLain and the current home to Harbor Country Day School. Be sure to start perfecting your strawberry pie recipe for the “Bake Off” Challenge. Also, get ready for a Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest and the Children’s Strawberry Stemming Contest. Simply Strawberry fun for everyone.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital, Suffolk County’s only children’s hospital.
