Jennifer Spencer, Psy.D., Joins Team at Naperville Clinical Services

Naperville, IL, March 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Jennifer Spencer, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist, has joined the team of clinicians at Naperville Clinical Service - a group practice in Naperville dedicated to providing high quality therapy to individuals, couples and families throughout the western suburbs.

Dr. Spencer provides individual and family therapy to children and their families, as well as adults. She specializes in counseling children and adolescents, particularly those with mental health issues including behavior and conduct disorders, attention deficit/hyperactive disorder, depression, and anxiety. Dr. Spencer has also worked with teens who were adjudicated in the juvenile court system. Additionally, she has extensive training in crisis prevention, crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Over the past 12 years, Dr. Spencer served as a psychologist for The Menta Group, an Aurora-based not-for-profit organization that runs several special education and therapeutic day schools throughout Chicagoland for children with severe behavioral and emotional issues. Most recently, she was stationed at Menta’s Fox Valley Tech and Trade Center school in Aurora.

Dr. Spencer earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1994 from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., and her master’s degree in 1996 and doctorate degree in clinical psychology in 2000 from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in Minneapolis. She is also an active member of the American Psychological Association.
