Joomla Index Directory, is Only Joomla

Joomla Index Directory is a unique website directory that is not limited to Joomla developers of extensions and templates. It is for all websites that are validated as Joomla based.

London, United Kingdom, March 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Joomla Index is a new online website directory with its own website developed around the well-known content management system, Joomla CMS.

Joomla, as many will know, is a very advanced open source CMS used by thousands of commercial, personal, government and community based websites for managing and deploying website content. Among Joomla’s many offerings are: support forums, many interactive community forums, and free and commercial add-on extensions. One can even showcase websites that conform to its guidelines. Joomla also has a directory ‘Joomla Resource Directory’ – JRD for short, this is aimed at developers of Joomla components, extensions and templates of which Joomla relies to enhance its overall capability.

Joomla Index website is completely independent. Its directory is not so restrictive, says Paul Stuart, founder of Joomla Index.

“It was decided to make the directory accessible to all Joomla users' because we feel it should not be limited to only specialists, such as Joomla developers. It is felt that if people have taken time to source a suitable CMS, and then to make an enormous effort both financially and time wise to build a website, they should be able to create awareness of it in a purpose built and definitive directory,” said Paul Stuart, founder of Joomla Index.

Paul goes on to say, “The aim of Joomla Index is to create a unique verified directory of all Joomla based websites. There are of course many website directories, some of which purport they list Joomla websites. But if you drill down deep enough, you find they are either just link farms, or there to skim off from PP clicks. This is not what Joomla Index is about.”

Joomla Index Directory is different, and this is why, says Paul, “Anyone who has a Joomla based website can add it to the directory. While it is being added it goes through a validation process to confirm that it is indeed built around one of the Joomla versions. This process is automated simply by Joomla Index accessing the website and is not invasive. If it fails the validation process, the website does not use Joomla and cannot be added. This maintains the directory as a bone fide Joomla only website resource.”

The Joomla Index website is membership based and does not restrict membership to Joomla users’ only. The reason for this is quite simple, there are many website owners that are looking to upgrade from their existing method of publishing to the World Wide Web, and may have given some thought to using Joomla. Joomla Index allows these members a sixty day time frame during which they can submit their new Joomla based website to the directory.
