Yampu Tours Partners with Ski Portillo to Promote Summer Skiing in Chile

Yampu Tours, "South America’s Leading Tour Operator," is having a big party in Stowe, Vermont on April 7 to celebrate their partnership with Ski Portillo of Chile, that will focus on promoting summer skiing in the Andes Mountains.

Stowe, VT, March 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Yampu Tours, the World Travel Award Winner as "South America’s Leading Tour Operator," announced today that they are partnering with Ski Portillo of Chile to promote summer skiing in the Andes Mountains. They’ll kick off their long-term relationship with a party in Stowe on April 7. The founders of both companies said the alliance was a natural progression.

“There’s a synergy between Stowe and South America in general,” said Yampu’s Monica Irauzqui of Stowe. “People here love skiing, snowboarding, hiking, family vacations and experiences in the natural world where locally produced foods can be savored. We know there’s interest in summer skiing in Portillo and people will be able to hear how they can do it while taking in other adventures like ‘sandboarding,’ Chile’s Atacama Desert or hiking Peru’s Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.”

Portillo is the oldest and grandest ski resort in Chile, where the season typically runs from June to October. People from all over the world take advantage of the climate for the legendary ski training conditions; steep pitch, big jumps and compression turns. Ski teams, locals and celebs like Lindsey Vonn and Chris Davenport mingle.

A celebratory cocktail party will be held at the Black Cap Coffee emporium at 144 Main Street in Stowe, Vermont on April 7. The informational event will give travelers a chance to learn about Portillo and how to get there. Chilean wines, appetizers and a raffle will be part of the fun. Yampu Tours President Jose Irauzqui will also be in attendance with Ski Portillo's Marketing Director Constanza Moya, to exchange stories, take questions and offer special discounts for travelers.

“Portillo is like a cruise ship in the middle of the Andes,” said Ski Portillo Marketing Director Constanza Moya. “It’s a one resort hotel in the middle of the Mountains with a beautiful lake. We have our meals and activities together so people can actually have a good time learning about other cultures and sharing adventures.”
