Albany, GA, March 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Albany State University (ASU) now offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree programs fully online. Albany State’s fully online programs are designed to meet the needs of working traditional and non-traditional students who seek to advance their education and careers.

Whether a manager, entrepreneur, or business professional, the workforce of the future will need to have a fundamental understanding of information systems. Information technology and Internet-based information systems are being used to create products and services and deliver them to customers.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems is designed to provide the undergraduate student with online instruction in the development of end-user computing skills and technologically-inclined strategies for improving business decision making. Students will be exposed to valuable theoretical knowledge and hands-on best practices in the areas of information systems in business, telecommunications management, social networking, e-commerce, critical thinking, and problem solving.

The Master of Science in Criminal Justice program consists of 30 hours and prepares students for professional careers within the criminal justice system. Students can select from two concentration areas: corrections or law enforcement. The degree can also provide a foundation for teaching criminal justice in high school and two-year colleges. Students can complete this degree program in one year.

Dr. Charles Ochie, Albany State’s Department Chairman of Criminal Justice said this about the degree program, “As one of the first Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree programs in the state, we have produced distinguished scholars and professionals that now play leading role in criminal justice and [law enforcement] across the state and nation.”
