Rockapella to Perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Rockapella, that rockin’ a cappella group, first played to a sold out audience (who screamed for more) at The Ridgefield Playhouse in 2005. By popular demand, they are coming back, so put Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. on the calendar—better yet, call now, as tickets will go fast. Often imitated, but never duplicated, this unique pop musical group has taken the previously stodgy music genre of a cappella and made it current. The Ridgefield High School Madrigals will open the evening.

Ridgefield, CT, March 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Rockapella, the rockin’ a cappella group, is coming back to The Ridgefield Playhouse.

The Ridgefield High School Madrigals will open the evening.

Often imitated, but never duplicated, this certifiably unique pop musical group has taken the previously stodgy music genre of a cappella and brought it full-force into the 21st century. Their story—or for that matter, their sound and impression—are like no other. The original quartet, a group of Brown University alumni, was formed for the sheer love of performing. They sang on New York city street corners with a hat out at their feet, earning enough to get dinner, and—through business cards dropped into the hat—work at private parties.

One thing led to another, and now this five-man powerhouse (now Jeff Thacher, Kevin Wright, George Baldi, Scott Leonard and John Brown), whose sound has become an infectious blend of soul, rock, rhythm and blues and jazz, has advanced across the nation thrilling audiences along the way, and now, they’re coming back to The Ridgefield Playhouse.
