Dozens of Containers of Nuclear Waste Found Washed Ashore in San Francisco Bay

San Francisco, CA, March 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Pictures published on RaiseYourAwareness.com/bay this week show dozens of containers of “Nuclear Waste” washed ashore in the San Francisco Bay. However, these containers were not 55-gallon oil drums filled with toxic remnants from nuclear reactors, but 16-ounce aluminum cans filled with a provocative new kind of energy drink called Nuclear Waste Antidote.

This over the top publicity stunt was orchestrated by Mark Michael Lewis, CEO of Smart Energy Enterprises, the manufacturer of the energy drink. “Sometimes radical measures are needed to deal with radical issues,” says Lewis. “The Nuclear Waste Antidote brand represents a new type of social activism.  We hope it will provoke public debate on nuclear issues.”

The drink, which bills itself as a “SmartPower” drink, invites consumers to “Raise Your Awareness” around nuclear issues. The RaiseYourAwareness.com website offers resources and surveys of major nuclear issues including nuclear medicine, environmental issues, and nuclear power. A portion of all profits from the sale of Nuclear Waste Antidote goes to support organizations that Raise Your Awareness on nuclear issues.

“We wanted to make a splash,” says Lewis, “By combining social activism with consumer products, we can keep the issue in the public sphere every time someone sees or uses the drink. We hope to blaze a trail for a new type of conscious consumerism.”
