The various events that will take place during NOVA Fashion Week's October 2011 Fashion Week

Alexandria, VA, April 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- From October 24-28, 2011, thousands of invited guests will descend on the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area as several of the world’s leading fashion designers will showcase their Spring 2012 collections at the Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, Virginia. The third annual Northern Virginia (NOVA) Fashion Week is a steadily growing fashion event that provides a platform for designers to use in an area that’s coming into its own style capital.

The Clarendon Ballroom will allow NOVA Fashion Week to upgrade its event with a number of production and audio/visual amenities. The ballroom also features a lavish lobby with lounge, space for sponsor suites to welcome guests and other professionals, as well as space for media interviews and press conferences. Andrew Roby, NOVA Fashion Week Executive Director says, “Guests will enjoy the convenience of multiple restaurants, cafes and shops surrounding this new location and they can plan ahead for the excitement that’s in store using our revamped website (novafashionweek.com). The partnership with the Clarendon Ballroom will be an incredible boost to the area and surrounding fashion retailers, restaurants, hotels and others related to the industry.”

During the course of this celebration of fashion, runway shows and events will be presented by student designers and established brands which will be revealed as we near the October show dates.

“With our company and the host committee vigorously working towards our October event, we are extremely happy to present an event of this magnitude and are even more ecstatic from the community response and their request for a fashion week that sets the stage in the Washington area,” said Roby.

Jewell Green, owner of Ashburn, VA-based Posh Couture and NOVA Fashion Week Committee Chairperson states, “I am elated at the opportunity to participate in NOVA Fashion Week. Our goal is to celebrate the industry and its accomplishments in fashion in a very posh way!”

The event kicks off on Monday, October 24th with a VIP cocktail reception and student designer show where proceeds will be donated on behalf of the NOVA Fashion Week Scholarship program in an effort to empower students. NOVA Fashion Week Student Scholarship advances the fashion industry through assisting in the development of individuals who will advance the creativity of fashion by investing in their future.
