Yokohama Stadium Selects FieldTurf Yet Again

Yokohama Stadium has decided to renew their longstanding partnership with FieldTurf, continuing to commit to providing athletes the best artificial turf playing surface in the business.

Montreal, Canada, May 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Originally installed in 2003, stadium officials have decided to stick with FieldTurf.

Yokohama Stadium, home to the Yokohama BayStars of the Japanese Central League, has renewed their longstanding relationship with FieldTurf. On March 10, 2011, the stadium installed a 12,035 square meter FieldTurf surface – thus continuing their 8 year commitment to providing the BayStars with a world class baseball venue.

“Since we wanted to choose a durable product that would provide the best performance and minimum physical strain on the athlete's body,” said Mr. Hiroshi Tsuruoka, CEO of Yokohama Stadium, “this time we made the choice to go with quality as our highest priority, not cost; so we decided to install the best artificial turf in Japan for our field. Now all we hope is to see the team make great plays on the best 'battlefield' for baseball.”

Added Mr. Takao Kaji, President of the Yokohama BayStars: “Our team will play brilliantly on the Stadium's new high quality turf.”

The sentiments expressed by these team executives demonstrate the long-term value FieldTurf provides. FieldTurf’s patented infill system ensures a safe and durable baseball turf playing surface for the ballplayers. Reduced knee and joint injuries prolong careers in the field, and improve quality of play. The synthetic turf not only looks and feels like grass, but provides ball bounce and ball roll performance that mirrors real grass.
