Harlow, United Kingdom, April 23, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- The Haag-Streit stand included floor space for the demonstration of larger equipment and a separate fully-stocked shop, where delegates could purchase smaller optometric products and take them away from the show.
Haag-Streit UK staff were busy throughout the show demonstrating the Haag-Streit BQ and BP range of imaging slit lamps and the Heidelberg Engineering Spectralis OCT, HRT and new HEP systems to Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Practice Managers.
The new DRS non-mydriatic retinal imaging camera was unveiled at the event and attracted a lot of attention, due to its competitive price point and functionality. Sales of the product taken over the 3 days exceeded expectations.
The new Perkins Mk3 hand-held applanation tonometer was launched at the event. The product, which is designed and produced by Haag-Streit UK, boasts an improved ergonomic hand-held design, an integrated rechargeable battery and enhanced internal LED illumination.
The Perkins Mk3, like its predecessors, can use either reusable Goldmann tonometer prisms or Tonosafe disposable prisms, both which sold out in the shop. Overall shop sales saw an increase of 22% compared with the previous Optrafair.
“We achieved record sales including; Spectralis OCT systems, our imaging slit lamps and the ever-popular Goldmann tonometers,” explains Dean Johnson, Managing Director at Haag-Streit UK, “however, it was the DRS camera that ‘stole the show,’ unveiling this product and launching the Perkins Mk3 at the event, contributed to a very successful Optrafair.”
