Sarasota, FL, March 01, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Hughes Design Associates, a premier full service interior design firm led by world-renowned interior designer, Pamela Hughes, recently completed the design of The Cloister at Sea Island, Georgia. Pamela Hughes collaborated with respected architect Peter Capone on the 3-year project.

Originally designed by Addison Mizner in 1928, The Cloister at Sea Island has welcomed guests including presidents, royalty, sports champions, and celebrities. In the 1920s, Addison Mizner was the best-known and most-discussed living American architect. Most of the hotel was demolished when Sea Island decommissioned the main building in 2003. For the past three years, artisans and craftspeople – many of them commissioned by Hughes Design Associates for the hotel’s interior – have played a role in rebuilding and restoring the historic hotel.

Hughes Design Associates designed the guest rooms and suites, the board room, breakout rooms, card room, club room, corridors, colonial lounge, dining rooms, library, meeting rooms, lobby, solarium, Spanish lounge, and the wine cellar. The Cloister is on Conde Nast Traveller’s Gold List of World’s Best Places To Stay.

Hughes Design Associates is celebrated for progressive and dynamic interior architectural services. The firm has created complete interior design packages for countless luxury hotels, spas, and private residences and is known for designing some of the most magnificent residences and hotel properties worldwide, including six Ritz Carlton properties, the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

With offices in McLean, VA, Sarasota, FL, and New York, NY, and a staff of more than 20 talented designers working on projects concurrently, Hughes Design Associates has the reach of a large interior design firm and the personality of a high end boutique firm. Pamela Hughes oversees every project, emphasizing that each design is unique and based on influences from a client’s personality, lifestyle, and taste to a building’s history, clientele, and sense of place.
