Hughes Design Associates Designs Interior of The Spa at Sea Island, Georgia

Sarasota, FL, March 01, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Hughes Design Associates, a premier full service interior design firm led by world-renowned interior designer, Pamela Hughes, recently completed the design of The Spa at Sea Island, Sea Island, Georgia.

Sea Island is a privately-owned five-mile island with glistening white sand beaches, a salt marsh nature preserve, year-round temperate weather, and is home to The Cloister, an elegant Spanish and Mediterranean-style historic hotel originally designed by Addison Mizner in 1928. For the past three years, artisans and craftspeople – many of them commissioned by Hughes Design Associates – have played a role in rebuilding and restoring the majestic landmark hotel and adding a 65,000-square-foot spa to the historic resort.

The Spa at Sea Island, a new addition to the resort, reflects the distinctive style of the original Cloister hotel. The Spa is comprised of an assortment of outdoor courtyards and indoor retreats and is filled with elaborate mosaics, hand-woven fabrics, and imported woods.

Hughes Design Associates designed the salon, reception, fitness lobbies, steam and sauna rooms, lounges, treatment rooms, locker rooms, spa retail shop, yoga studio, squash gallery and courts, exercise and lap pools, and courtyards.

Celebrated for progressive and dynamic interior architectural services, Hughes Design Associates has created complete interior design packages for countless luxury hotels, spas, and private residences and is known for designing some of the most magnificent residences and hotel properties around the world, including six Ritz Carlton properties, the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

With offices in McLean, VA, Sarasota, FL, and New York, NY, and a staff of more than 20 talented designers working on projects concurrently, Hughes Design Associates has the reach of a large interior design firm and the personality of a high end boutique firm. Pamela Hughes oversees every project, emphasizing that each design is unique and based on influences from a client’s personality, lifestyle, and taste to a building’s history, clientele, and sense of place.
