Microsoft Dynamics Provider To-Increase Comments on Planned Lawson Software Acquisition

Blog post discusses what acquisition should mean for new or existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software customers.

Norwell, MA, April 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- To-Increase, a provider of Microsoft Dynamics Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions, comments on GGC Software's planned acquisition of business application software provider, Lawson Software, in a blog post published this week.

On April 26th, headlines broke that detailed the planned acquisition of Lawson Software by GGC Software, an affiliate of Golden Gate Capital and Infor. An article published by Robin Wauters of TechCrunchIT indicates that this deal has been unanimously approved by Lawson's board of directors, and is subject to close in Q3 2011, pending stockholder and regulatory approval.

In the fallout of this breaking ERP software industry news are found questions from both existing and potential Lawson Software customers. Specifically, customer questions surrounding Lawson Software's planned acquisition include:

-What will the future of Lawson Software look like?
-In light of this takeover, should I still consider upgrading?
and perhaps most importantly:
-Will the software I implement today meet my needs tomorrow?

"As I represent competing ERP software Microsoft Dynamics, it would be hard for me to speculate on customer questions asking about the future of Lawson Software without going full board into inadvertent self-promotion," writes Luciano Cunha, Global Industry Director, To-Increase, in a blog post discussing the planned acquisition. "But what I can tell you is this: implementation of ERP software is not, nor will it ever be, a fix-it and forget-it initiative."

Cunha goes on to list several needs that ERP software must meet for its customers both today, and continue to meet ten years down the road. These needs include:

-Visibility into all business processes
-Real-time communication of critical project details
-Integration with existing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems

"If you are currently working with, or considering Lawson, I encourage you to ask the right questions prior to making any commitment - both about what the software can provide today, and the future vision of the product," concludes Cunha. "Of course, these are the same questions I would encourage you to ask any software vendor – including my company."
