Migratory Teams Up with ANT to Bring Real-Time Web Applications to HbbTV-Compliant Devices

Migratory Data Systems, the provider of the world's most scalable Comet server for building real-time web, mobile, and enterprise applications, today announced that it has added support for the ANT Galio Platform.

Iasi, Romania, May 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) is an emerging standard that takes TV entertainment to the next level. HbbTV offers viewers not only rich broadcasting services but also the benefits of interactive broadband content and is available for connected TVs and set-top boxes (STB’s).

“We've identified that the HbbTV standard is another challenging market that gives us the opportunity to demonstrate what Migratory Push Server can do when facing a huge amount of users,” said Mihai Rotaru, Managing Director and CTO at Migratory. “By developing support for the ANT Galio Platform, in addition to the existing support we have for other browser solutions used by major HbbTV device manufacturers, we think that customers can leverage the potential of live web applications for HbbTV in a highly scalable manner.”

An in depth analysis of its features shows that Migratory is the optimal real-time web delivery solution for HbbTV solutions:

The Migratory architecture is built in such a way that, one million end users can be simultaneously connected in a single instance, with the bandwidth minimally affected, thanks to the efficient communication protocol that adds very little constant overhead to each message so there is no unnecessary information overload.

Migratory Push Server is capable of very low latency, providing seamless data transfers in milliseconds, while remaining fault tolerant in the case of a server crash or network disconnection, which means that the information will always be safely delivered to the end user.

“By using ANT’s CDK (Content Developer Kit) we were able to easily develop applications for the standards-based ANT Galio Platform. We are pleased to be working with ANT to enable real-time web applications in the fast emerging HbbTV market,” Rotaru added.

Simon Woodward, CEO, ANT added: "HbbTV is a fast emerging industry standard that has already been adopted in a number of countries across Europe. We’re pleased to support exciting web application developers such as Migratory with the ANT CDK which significantly reduces development time on a proven deployed HbbTV solution."
