Englewood, NJ, May 01, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- "There aren't that many stores left where someone can walk in and the first thing the sales person asks is, 'How's your family?' This is as much our home-away-from-home as it is for All the people that have come through our doors over the years’ manager," Linda Simon says (Englewood Style). A staple in the local Home Improvement industry for over 7 decades, Mitchell Simon & Co. is a family-owned & operated store that has been serving customers for 3 generations (Nicole Alt Photography). "Our kids all have a say in what's here," says Linda. "They've grown up in the store. We’ve grown up in the store. Doting… we're kind of big on that here," Linda admits with a laugh (Englewood Style).
Her brother, David Simon, tells why: "75 years ago, my grandfather opened Mitchell Simon Company in Englewood, NJ selling feed and grain. In 1959, my father Philip Simon took over the operation, expanded the store and brought in Ace Hardware. Over the next twenty years and many more store expansions, he managed to continually bring in products and lines to meet the needs of his customers. In 1985, I joined the family business. At that time, Home Depot was quickly expanding, so my father and I created a specialty niche business under one roof. Also, this niche service would incorporate custom design and layout of patio furniture; gas grill islands; plus natural gas and wood-burning fireplaces. In 2003, we brought on yet another line to service our customers, under garage organization: 'Total Garage Concepts' became the largest Ace Hardware store distributing Gladiator Garage Works. Those products lead me to the manufacturing of garage cabinetry and epoxy floor coatings."
"Mitchell Simon Company became known as the place to shop for All household needs, including cookware; hardware; outdoor play sets; patio furniture; fireplaces; BBQ grills, and gifts. Even the littlest stuff like light bulbs,” explained Linda & David. (Carrying a variety of items) "…would strengthen our commitment to customer service and include instant assembly delivery, & installation of our many products." –David Simon. "Owning a home furnishings and hardware store means every day we're battling it out with larger brands across an extremely competitive landscape. But we're up for the challenge. Listening to the wants and needs of the community, competitive pricing; making sure our customers can find what they need locally," Linda proudly declares (Englewood Style & Nicole Alt Photography).
Visitors to Mitchell Simon may also converse with Ilene, the former owner of Antiques of Piermont (NY)... who’s presently known inside as Ambiance Antiques & Collectibles. Readers may ask Ilene about personal shopping, design consultations, and more. For antique restoration questions, Ambiance Antiques & Collectibles, and Mitchell Simon, refer clients to "Ron’s Antique Restoration & Conservation" (quote from Nicole Alt Photography). Ilene says, "The store's location, schedule and parking situation, makes it an ideal choice," -J. Ritacco.
"The traditional Englewood Gallery Walk is returning this year as the Englewood Art & Fashion Spring Event, with more than 25 participating merchants. Participants will be featuring their own unique events in their individual stores: Mitchell Simon will conduct a Weber brand outdoor grill promotion, along with a demonstration of various products… plus they are offering food and refreshments." "Refreshments and wine will be served along with special promotions at Englewood's finest galleries, boutiques and specialty food stores throughout the city. The City of Englewood is a well-known destination for cultural, art, and fashion lovers in New Jersey, and the entire Tri-State region." (Englewood Style).
