The Medal Play Golf Tour Visited Westin Mission Hills Gary Player Course

Rancho Mirage, CA, May 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour visited the Gary Player course at the Westin Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage Sunday. “We held our first qualifier for the World Golfers Championship today” said tour director Blane Freytag. “The tour is getting increased exposure while giving local golfers a venue to qualify for the WGC Nationals in San Antonio, TX in late September.”

The Championship Division was dominated by Chris Kruger who had the hot hand on this day. Kruger, playing in his fourth tour event, unleashed with a net 66 to easily outpace runner up Shaun Clark by 4 shots. “I have been practicing a lot. It felt good to have everything come together today,” commented Kruger after the round. Greg Austin had his best round on tour to place 3rd with a net 71.

Tom Taylor, who placed 3rd at the last event, broke through for his first win on tour with a spectacular round of net 71 in the Gold Division.
