Matthew 25: Ministries' Disaster Team Returns from Tornado-Ravaged Alabama

Matthew 25: Ministries' Assessment Team returned on Tuesday, May 3 from tornado-ravaged Alabama. Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization in Cincinnati, OH began trucking supplies to Alabama on Sunday, May 1. Matthew 25's initial shipments comprised almost 300,000 pounds of products including non-perishable food, water, personal care kits and diapers. 180,000 meals from Matthew 25’s Food Processing Center were included in the shipments.

Cincinnati, OH, May 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Matthew 25: Ministries' Assessment Team returned on Tuesday, May 3 from tornado-ravaged Alabama. Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization located at 11060 Kenwood Road in Blue Ash began trucking supplies to Alabama on Sunday, May 1. Based on real-time reports coming in from partners on the ground in the devastated area, Matthew 25's initial shipments included almost 300,000 pounds of products including non-perishable food, water, personal care kits and diapers. 180,000 meals from Matthew 25: Ministries Food Processing Center were included in the initial shipments.

Tim Mettey, Matthew 25’s Vice President and Disaster Relief Coordinator personally delivered the first loads of relief and met with distribution partners to ensure that Matthew 25 was working as effectively as possible to meet the needs of the disaster victims. Additional truckloads of supplies will follow based on that needs assessment.

"The magnitude of the destruction caused by these tornadoes is incredible. Entire neighborhoods - even small towns are left without a single building standing," says Vice President and Disaster Relief Coordinator Tim Mettey. "The devastation is total. Thousands are homeless and thousands more are without power. Matthew 25: Ministries plans to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in this area for the long term."
