The Bridge Art Space Opens It's Gates to Outside Artists First Two Weekends in June, 2011

Arts & Crafts Show will also feature resident artists and musicians at "the Bridge"

Richmond, CA, May 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Bridge Art Space is hosting an open show for artists and crafters (“craftsmen”) exhibition, for outside artists, first two weekends in June, 2011 (June 4 - 5 and 11 - 12, 11am-6pm). Bridge Art Space is a growing collection of artist galleries, music rehearsal studios, ceramics, digital arts and other creative endeavors by independent artisans from in and around the East Bay. There are those who have art degrees from some of the finest universities in the world, as well as good mix of the Outsider Artist (i.e. self-taught). The Bicycle Art Salon calls the Bridge home. It was founded by Slimm Buick, a well-known San Francisco artist, is amongst the resident artists, having received the first ever award for an artists residency at Bridge Art Space.

The art space in June can be inside or out, up to 10' x 10' if desired. Cost for all four days is only $35 for those from the Greater Bay Area.

“Our goal with the Art Show in June is to provide the best experience for attendees along with a productive event for the artists, too,” said Justine tenZeldam, PR Director for the event. “It's a great opportunity for the art collector, too, to pick up things from up and coming artists, as well as established artists; and in so many mediums!”

As for the artists who exhibit and work there, the Bridge Art Space likes to add personal touches, like an artists lounge, Adirondack chairs and shady garden areas, that give a sense of community. “It's been a great experience, so far,” said Slimm Buick, resident artist. “It sort of feels like a big, weird family at times!” he added jokingly. “Thanks to events and common areas like the artists lounge – complete with big screen and multi-media goodies – there are often spontaneous parties, barbecues and bonfires, amongst the group.

“One thing I've noticed, even though there are diverse backgrounds, art mediums and more, we always seem to have a great time together, especially when can meet new people from outside the Bridge,” said Buick. “Hopefully this will bring in some more cool people to share our art, music and other creative ideas."

In addition to art and music studios, the Bridge has regular self storage spaces available at competitive pricing. There is 24 hour surveillance, in addition to a number of “resident artists” that actually call it the place home (as their residence).
