Ticket Genie Announces That Wicked Theatre Tickets Are Selling Out

Orlando, FL, May 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Ticket Genie, the online retailer of discount theatre, concert and sporting event tickets has made an announcement that theatre tickets to the musical, Wicked are selling out fast for the spring and summer performances.

The musical is the 17th longest running Broadway show in history. The show is based on the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire titled, “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.” The novel is based chronologically before the movie, “The Wizard of Oz” and details the upbringing and life of the Wicked Witch of the West, named Elphaba. The story portrays her in a more complex and positive light than in the movie, and forces the audience to see the classic story from entirely different perspective. The book introduces new characters to the story, and includes political aspects to the Land of Oz.

The Broadway show has been a hit since its release in 2003, and has played 3094 performances to date. Tickets to the show continue to be a top selling item. The musical will be touring across the UK and United States including London and New York showings.

Ticket Genie still has some Wicked theatre tickets left for these performances and encourages interested parties to visit the site for discounted viewings to one of the most popular performances of all time.
