Sportaneous to Host Interactive Launch Event at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, May 15th, 2011

Sportaneous, an iPhone app and web service that helps NYC amateur athletes find and organize pick-up sports and fitness activities, will hold a launch event at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ prior to the New York Red Bulls game against Chivas USA.

New York, NY, May 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- New York-based start-up Sportaneous will host an open launch event from 4:00 PM-6:30 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ. Fans will be invited to participate in free, interactive stations where they can try their hand at a number of sports including soccer, basketball, baseball and American football. At 6:30 PM the action will move inside as the New York Red Bulls, currently holding the best record in Major League Soccer, take on Western Conference rivals Chivas USA.

In addition to free participation in seven sports stations including a basketball shoot-out, an American football toss, a soccer bowling challenge and a "Measure Your Pitch/Kick/Pass Speed" tent, attendees will also have the chance to win three signed Red Bulls jerseys being raffled. The Red Bulls Street Team will be performing alongside live DJs in the arena's Interactive Zone, where fans will also enjoy a number of food, beverage and product giveaways.

"We're very excited to be partnering with the New York Red Bulls for our New York launch event," said Omar Haroun, CEO and co-founder of Sportaneous. "We hope to have a similarly positive impact on the NYC-area sporting community as we help New Yorkers get fit through pick-up sport. We decided early on that this would be be a very untraditional launch event. Instead of serving drinks and making speeches, we'll be getting our attendees and fans of the Red Bulls active at the free, interactive sports stations."

"We are excited to partner with Spontaneous and be able to introduce Red Bulls fans to this innovative platform where they can connect with others that share their love for soccer," said Andrew Lafiosca, the VP of Marketing for the New York Red Bulls.

Attendance is free, and fans who RSVP via the event's Facebook page (listed below) will receive a code for discounted tickets to the Red Bulls-Chivas USA match.
